About Château de Soules

On the edge of the Ariege, just south of the town of Lezat, in the parish of St Ybars, you will find Château de Soules. Built around the middle of the 19th century for the Baronne de Nomazy and given the Occitan name 'Soules' meaning 'Sun' the château is situated away from the main road south to the Pyrenean mountains, surrounded by it's own woods and parkland - in complete privacy. Beside the Château is a large shaded terrace area with chairs and tables for dining outdoors and a brick-built barbecue.  There is a swimming pool, sun terrace, an all weather tennis court (built in 2005 to professional standards), games room with table tennis, table football and raquets for badminton, and several bicycles are also available for your use.

About Les Remparts: Due to the huge interest in bookings, I am delighted to include an extra accomodation option.Les Remparts, one of our wonderful venues of last year, is now available again this year (http://www.urobech.com/,).It has luxury facilities including all bedrooms with delightful ensuits, heated swimming pool etc. The students last year loved it!
 However, The Chateau is a 5 minute drive down the hill, or a 30-40 minute walk. A minibus will be available to transport people to the classes and practica's, but it would obvoiusly mean much more freedom if you have the use of a car.
Teachers: About Adrian & Amanda Costa During recent years, Adrian and Amanda have become one of the most influential and admired performers and teachers of the Authentic Salon Tango, in the Villa Urquiza style. Their experitise comes from an illustrious lineage of masters: El Turco Jose, Portalea, who are their maestros. Adrian and Amanda successfully combine the true heritage and fundamentals of social tango with their more modern vision.  Mutual respect for everyone sharing the dance floor, integrating  emotion and interpretation of the music, and a natural elegance rooted in posture and beautiful walking are hallmarks of their vision.

Students from last year’s TSL holiday were bowled over by the quality of their teaching. So back by popular demand, Adrian and Amanda have agreed to teach for 2 weeks this time!

There is no doubt that anyone taking either or both of these holiday weeks will improve their tango (on many levels) and find these teachers  a huge source of inspiration and delight.

n.b re levels:
week 1;not suitable for beginners,some previous classes with Adrian and Amanda or Luis & Claire recommended for a good grounding in walking and musicality techniques.Improvers- advanced levels will benefit from the precision and depth of teaching.
week 2: Only suitable for those who have worked with Adrian and Amanda before. Tangosouthlondon will be running courses prior to the holiday to ensure we arrive with a high level of understanding of A&A's musicality, embrace & walking technique.

Food

Included: Breakfast (fruit , cereal, and pastries &drinks)

                   Lunch (fresh salads, local lovely cheeses &pates, wine & beer etc)

We will be eating on the beautiful terrace in front of the chateau.

Dinner will be provided by the wonderful local restaurant. You can choose to opt in or out of this (self catering available).

Dance Floor

The chateau's Gite has a large room with a wooden floor! This will be used for classes, practicas and evening milongas. There are also other rooms available for private lessons/practice, and a tiled open air terrace for those sultry nights!

Trips to local Milongas

There are some great local Milongas (Toulouse, Carla Bayle etc). Info will be available if you would like to visit them and check out the local scene!

Local sites

There are some wonderful local medieval towns and villages:

Saint Lizier, Foix with it's ancient castle and fantastic re-enactment of the storming of the bastide plus life through the ages, Camon and Mazeres.

There are some incredible fortresses in the Ariege too, Montsegur ( quite a climb but worth the effort), Carcassonne ( a whole village surrounded by a huge moat with original draw-bridges, narrow cobbled streets, a real fairytale land, and the ruins of Roquefixade.

Pre-historic Caves

Pre-historic Caves or 'grottes' include; Niaux with it's fascinating 13 thousand year old cave drawings, Mas D'Azil, and Labouiche which incorporates an underground river trip.

And all the other delights such as local markets, festivals etc.

Prices

There is room for 30 students on each course.

There are mostly double rooms either with 2 single beds or a double.

According to first come first serve, I will attempt to get even numbers of men and women.

 N.B:For week 2 only: there is a previous booking on friday 30th July in Les Remparts, so there will be a considerable discount for the fact that you will either have to find alternative accommodation for that night, or leave on the friday. There are no classes on Saturday 31st, so you will not miss tuition on that day. Currently Easyjet has flights available at very low pricces from Toulouse leaving at 21.55 and arriving at Gatwick at 22.40 on friday 30th July.
The price is 550 pounds per person for the second week.There are only 1places for ladies available: avai , so you need to be quick to book!
